Iranian carriers prepare services while international airlines await approvals
TEHRAN/DUBAI – Flights between Tehran and Dubai are reportedly set to resume from July 1, marking the reopening of a key air connection between Iran and the United Arab Emirates.
Iran’s Civil Aviation Authority confirmed that direct services on the route will restart after necessary approvals were issued by aviation authorities. The development comes as Iran works towards gradually restoring international air links following a period of disruption.
Iranian media reported that initial services will be operated by Iranian airlines, with preparations already underway for flights connecting Tehran with Dubai.
Iran said flights between the country and the United Arab Emirates would resume on July 1 after aviation authorities in both countries approved the route.

Authorities said additional international routes and foreign carriers could return later, subject to further approvals from relevant government bodies.
Tehran-Dubai route
Ramin Kashefazar, CEO of Imam Khomeini Airport City, said Iranian airlines have started arrangements to resume flights on the Dubai route, with direct services between Iran and the UAE expected to begin later this week.
He added that no foreign airlines have restarted operations to Iran so far, but discussions are ongoing with several international carriers regarding the gradual return of services. Airlines from neighbouring countries are among those expected to resume flights in the near future as conditions allow.
The restoration of the Tehran-Dubai connection is expected to provide renewed travel options for passengers between the two destinations, while aviation authorities continue reviewing the return of broader international operations.
Kashefazar said Germany’s Lufthansa is currently assessing the situation before restarting its services to Iran. The airline group is expected to consider resuming flights during the winter season, with carriers within the group, including Austrian Airlines, also part of the discussions.
